Your Way's Better

Your Way's Better

Misty eyes and ear-to-ear smiles filled the West Chapel last week as parents, students, and staff gathered to bless 5th, 8th, and 12th graders turning the page in the story of their educational journey.

"Lord, I am so thankful for the ways that You blessed me, Everything You say makin' waves like a jetski...Oh Lord, I need you now, more than ever..." sang 5th graders as our community gathered to bless them, the 8th graders, and graduating seniors, who are each stepping into a new chapter of their lives.

A teacher spoke for each student, taking time to celebrate the growth they have seen, speak scripture, words of encouragement, and blessings over them, and pray for them. It was a sweet celebration of who they are and who they are becoming; bittersweet for the seniors as we prepare to say goodbye.

Our 5th graders are preparing to enter Middle Grades, taking their first big step into a new academic adventure. This soon-to-be Middle Grades class also prepared two surprise performances, singing "Holy Forever" by Chris Tomlin, and "Your Way's Better" by Forrest Frank.

Our 8th graders are transitioning into Upper School, growing in independence and responsibility as they continue their journey.

And our Seniors—what a joy to celebrate their time at ICSB and commission them as they prepare to step beyond our walls into the wider world.

It was a meaningful time of reflection and hope, reminding us of God's faithfulness through every stage of life and learning. We are proud of each student and thankful to walk alongside them as they grow more and more into who God made them to be. We entrust them into His hands for the road ahead.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.
