From Seedtime to Springtime: Witnessing God's Promise of Renewal

From Seedtime to Springtime: Witnessing God's Promise of Renewal
Candace Jefferies

As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, we prepare for winter, but never forget God promises spring that brings sunny days and an abundance of flowers!

While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

Ms. Payne's precious Pre1st students are learning about plants, particularly ones that bloom. The class planted 75 tulip bulbs on the school grounds and will patiently wait and watch to see them grow and bloom in the spring! The students are learning about what's essential for the plants to grow (sun and water) and bloom and how certain plants need cold soil to thrive.

Beyond the science lesson, this exercise utilizes math and language skills. The students sorted and counted the different bulbs and read and listened to instructions on how to plant them. When it's just fun for them, they still learn so much!

The students are excited to watch the progress of the bulbs' growth and see the bright colors in a few months. Stay tuned, for just as surely as spring follows winter, so too will the fruits of this labor reveal the glory of Creation and the unfailing promise of renewal.
