Senior Trip 2024!!!

Senior Trip 2024!!!

The senior trip to Cyprus was all the Class of 2024 hoped for and more!

One of the many blessings of the small class sizes at ICSB is the opportunity for our seniors to finish their last year of school together by going on a trip to Cyprus! This tradition is full of rewards beyond spending the week in such a beautiful place!

This year's seniors took off VERY early on Sunday, June 2, full of anticipation, and arrived at their destination with plenty of time left in the day to enjoy it! That is, if they could stay awake! No matter; they had five more days after their arrival on Sunday to take it all in. The week was filled with many fun activities, including beach time, going to a water park, playing laser tag, and sailing the beautiful waters around the island. Students thoroughly enjoyed taking in God's creation together, and memories were made that they will take with them as they move on to their next chapter.

Senior Class sponsors for this year, Mr. and Mrs. Eding and Mr. and Mrs. Thiesen, coordinated activities and worked to achieve the ultimate goals for the trip, which included having fun together, learning the history and culture of the Island, and most importantly, taking time to affirm each other and share their thoughts and feelings about the future.

Each day started with a student-led devotional; each evening, students spent time writing notes of affirmation to their classmates. Our soon-to-be graduates shared special memories and encouraged one another by expressing things they appreciate and admire about each other. After each affirmation, the group prayed a blessing over their friend for the future.

ICSB leadership's commitment to this aspect of the trip yields great rewards for the seniors as they end their time at ICSB and consider the future. It truly was a special time!

As Isaiah 40:30-31 states,

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

We are thankful that through this trip, our graduating youth had the opportunity to travel and swim and not be tired but rather come back refreshed, built up, and ready for what's next.
