As the 2023 Bulldogs basketball season draws to a close, we cannot finish without recognizing the seniors from both varsity squads.
Senior Night was held last week at the teams' final home games. The players were honored for their many contributions - both in competition and leadership!
The Senior Boys are:
- Drew N.
- Shane P.
- Weston R.
- Ryan S.
- Jimmy W.
ICSB's Varsity Boys Coach, Ryan Nolterieke, shared, "I have continued to grow in respect and admiration for these seniors. As coaches, we are continually asking them to work hard, be selfless, and set aside individual goals for the goals of the team. There are many people who are not willing to do these things, but they are. They have displayed maturity and self-discipline, and that has led us to a very successful season. But more importantly, these are qualities that the Lord calls us to in Scripture, which means that if they continue to pursue them, they will live life in a way that honors and glorifies our God.
As this time in their lives is ending, I am encouraging them to enjoy every moment and soak up all of these experiences. They will treasure the memories they have of this season for a lifetime."
The Senior Girls are:
- Hallie B.
- Melanie H.
- Maddy O.
- Charissa T.
- Abi S.
The Varsity Girls Coach, Suzanne Cole, shared about her seniors. She said, "It's hard to express in just a few words what Abi, Charissa, Hallie, Maddi, and Melanie mean to me. Each one of them brings something special to every experience. They have all been with me for different lengths of time. Some I have known since they were in 2nd grade, and some I've only known for a few years, but each one has made an imprint in my heart.
As they end this chapter of their lives and head into new experiences, it is my prayer that they will always remember who they are because of Christ and that they will continue to declare Truth over themselves in every circumstance."
The seniors took this opportunity to recognize those who supported them as they pursued this sport. The athletes presented parents and other special supporters with a token of their appreciation.
Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not men. - Colossians 3:23
