The National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony was a meaningful evening celebrating the achievements of these eight newest members. Ms. Bekka Olandt opened the evening with remarks on scholarship.

Then, four Upper School Students and NHS members, Elaina L., Kira E., Annora K., and Irene K., took turns speaking on the four pillars of the National Honor Society: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. They shared not only the meaning behind each pillar, but also how these values shape the school's NHS chapter. A candle was lit for each pillar, symbolizing the light they shine within the NHS community. Inductees were challenged to carry these virtues forward, both collectively and individually.

At the center of the candle display, a fifth candle was lit, representing the light of knowledge, a virtue NHS members are called to share with others, starting with the ICSB community and reaching far beyond. It was a profound reminder of the responsibility these students now carry in upholding and exemplifying these values.

The inductees then recited the National Honor Society pledge together:

I pledge to uphold the high purpose of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

After taking the pledge, each new member was presented with a certificate.

The evening ended with Mrs. Rebecca Lingenhoel's closing remarks and a prayer by Ms. Kate Smith, followed by a dessert reception where students, families, and staff celebrated together and enjoyed time in fellowship. A special thank you to our NHS advisors, Ms. Kate Smith and Mrs. Lingenhoel, for making this such a memorable night for our students.
