From construction throughout the summer to New and All Staff Orientation, our faculty and staff have been eagerly and prayerfully preparing for the 2026-2027 school year, and are excited to welcome students and families back next week!
The building has been abuzz all summer, sometimes quite literally, as construction took place all summer long to create new office spaces in the West building and make other campus updates. Thank you to our facilities staff for all of their hard work to prepare the building for another school year!
Then, as the start of the new school year began to approach, ICSB's newest staff members arrived in Hungary, and they began their journey with our school at New Staff Orientation. From Hungarian lessons, Hungarian Chicken Paprikás, and Rétes (Strudel), ICSB's newest faculty not only got to know more about our school, but got a little taste and helpful pointers for life in Hungary. The following week, on the first day of All Staff Orientation (ASO), where all of our new and returning staff joined together, the newest members of the ICSB family had the chance to introduce themselves.
Our returning staff then gathered around them and prayed for them.
The rest of ASO included training, professional development, time for teachers to prepare their classrooms and lesson plans, and a Red Cross full-day First Aid, CPR, and AED training, including a refresher for those who had previously been certified. Each day of All Staff Orientation began with worship and a devotional centered around the theme of Stewardship.
It was a blessing for new and returning staff to gather together in worship and prayer, start the day refreshed by the ministry of the chaplain team through their devotionals, and get to hear from our Head of School, Mr. David Kelley, and see his heart for our school and every person in our community as he embarks on this new chapter of his journey as a leader.
Our staff got to hear more from him, as well as a moving and heartfelt speech from House Council President Joe D. at the welcome staff lunch on Thursday.
On the final morning of ASO, our staff posted their prayer requests on their doors and embarked on a prayer walk all around the school, praying for one another and covering the school in prayer for the new school year.
It was a blessing to gather as staff and spend the week praying, worshiping, learning, and fellowshipping together in preparation for the school year. All of our faculty and staff are waiting with eager expectation for students to arrive and begin another wonderful year at ICSB.
