Music and Art on Display

The Upper School music and art students have put on an impressive showcase of their talents last week during the annual Upper School Fine Arts Festival.

The audience was treated to a variety of music from both the band and choir and over 100 pieces of art were on display for the crowd to enjoy.

The music portion of the program, led by Mrs. Rebecca Lingenhoel, was a delightful mixture of music styles and genres. The band performed several pieces that ranged from hymns to musical scores. The choir also entertained with musical medleys, including Les Miserables and Newsies. The five graduating senior participants in the choir were recognized for their contributions to the program during their time at ICSB.

There was also a surprise performance by several of ICSB's men on staff. They performed a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace, Mrs. Ligenhoel's favorite hymn.

The audience was invited to enjoy the students' art displays after the music performances. Mr. Kyle McEachron, ICSB's Upper School art and graphic design instructor, shared that he has been so encouraged and impressed by the diversity and quality of the art his students have produced this year. It was a beautiful display of a wide variety of pieces.

It was evident that the students put in many hours of practice and preparation, resulting in a truly impressive and enjoyable showcase. We are very grateful for the dedicated ICSB Upper School music and art leadership that brings out the best of our students' God-given abilities.
