Our 9th-grade students have the privilege of spending a few days in retreat together to launch their years in Upper School and strengthen their relationships with one another and with their God.
Last week, they took off for the DPB Camp in Croatia to spend two days and nights together with a challenge to come back better.
Freshmen Challenge is many things: canoeing, rock climbing, swimming (a new activity inspired by students this year), hiking (backward and forward and sometimes on one leg), roasting mallows, super-sized volleyball, diving deep into Scripture, laughing, crying (sometimes happy tears, sometimes sad), and a whole lot of memories in between.
Freshman Class sponsor Mrs. Rachel Culbertson shared, "This year's group took on every challenge with enthusiasm, positivity, and some pretty Big Gunns, earning even the site director's compliments about the group and our school! As they take these experiences into this year, pray that God gives all of them eyes to see and value people in our community who need help, who need care, or who maybe just need a little lift."
The three Freshman Challenge teams, The Shooting Stars, Team No Taxes, and The Big Gunns, are ready to rise to all the challenges this year brings!
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10
