The Power of Community: 2024–25 Annual Fund Impact

As we wrap up another incredible school year, and with it, our first Annual Fund campaign, we are filled with gratitude for the generosity and vision of our ICSB community. We raised $36,000 - far surpassing our $28,000 (10 million HUF) goal. Such generosity reflects an outpouring of love for ICSB and a commitment to enhancing student learning. Over 50% of our families, 60% of our staff, and 100% of our Board participated.

 

This fundraising effort highlighted four important initiatives that ICSB undertook this year. Thanks to your support, here's a look at what we have accomplished together:

1. Educator Excellence

Investing in our staff means investing in our students. ICSB leadership's foresight in the direct impact of professional development on students' educational experience has given staff members opportunities to attend conferences and pursue graduate studies to further their professional goals. One of these conferences this year included ACSI's leadership conference, which was held in Mallorca. 

 

In addition to attending the leadership conference, Lower School Principal Mr. David Kelley is also getting a post-graduate degree, with the help of the school. Pursuing this degree while being a principal empowers him to directly apply what he is learning for the benefit of Lower School teachers, students, and the community. 

As I am working towards an EdS in Educational Leadership, one of the most valuable lessons I am learning is how better to empower teachers to meet the needs of their students by planning strategically, developing robust staff wellness policies, and facilitating powerful professional learning opportunities. When teachers are pursuing excellence, then they are equipped to provide the excellent, Christian, university-preparatory education we desire for all of our students.

Another staff member receiving the school's support in their graduate studies is ICSB Athletic Director, Mr. John Burgess. Hear what he has to say about the school's help in his graduate studies journey, and its impact on his work with our students. 

I'm incredibly grateful for ICSB's support as I work toward my master's degree in sports management. It's been a wonderful experience so far, and it's helping me see things from new, research-driven perspectives that I can bring back to our athletic program. Being able to grow professionally while staying connected to our students and teams means a lot to me.

2. Spiritual Experience

Our newly refreshed West Chapel is now a more welcoming and inspiring space for students and staff alike.

Upgrades included new carpeting, chairs, a full paint refresh, air conditioning, and enhanced sound and lighting systems to improve sound and lighting quality for chapel, assemblies, and special events.

Still on the way is wooden sound paneling that will be built into the wall to help with acoustics for chapel worship, the talent show, and other events. 

 

3. Technology Upgrade

Keeping our technology tools current is key to student success. This year, we replaced 25 Dell Latitude laptops to support classroom learning and prepare Middle Grades students for a connected, digital world.

 

4. Coming Soon... Campus Safety & Security

Looking ahead, we're excited to begin improvements to our all-school Public Address system. This project includes new microphones, upgraded bell functions, and enhancements to emergency communication systems, ensuring our campus is not only welcoming but also safe and prepared.
