From Zip lining to a 1000-year-old church, this year's Freshman Challenge had it all!
Every year, the Freshman Challenge is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to build connections and foster unity as they embark on their Upper School journey together. This year was no different, with its "Standing Together" theme resonating throughout every activity.
These new 9th Graders dove right in, engaging in group activities and games that challenged them physically and mentally and brought them closer as a team. The students also spent time in meaningful group devotions, exploring what it truly means to support one another in faith and friendship.
The adventure didn't stop there! Students enjoyed zip lining through the beautiful landscapes of Hungary and hiking to discover the area's natural beauty. One of the trip's highlights was visiting a 1,000-year-old church, where students could step back in time and appreciate the history and culture surrounding them. It was a moment of reflection and awe, adding a spiritual depth to the experience.
This year’s Freshman Challenge was in Dömös, Hungary, instead of Croatia, and this new location was an absolute success. The dedicated leadership of Mr. Michael Southwell, Mrs. Shannon Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Petr, and Angela Eding (class sponsors) enjoyed getting to know these students better and seeing them grow as a community. It was a fantastic start to the year, filled with laughter, personal growth, and lasting memories. We can't wait to see how this freshman class continues to stand together and grow as they journey through their high school years!
