Five Candles

Five Candles
Susan Cooper

We are so proud to honor these students joining the National Honor Society here at ICSB on Tuesday night.

Upper School principal, Mike Southwell, spoke to the inductees on the importance of integrity. The ceremony was followed by a fabulous dessert reception.

Five candles burned bright before the students that were inducted into the National Honor Society here at ICSB. The middle candle represents the light of knowledge that NHS members must pass on and the remaining four candles represent the pillars of the National Honor Society: character, leadership, scholarship, and service. The ICSB chapter of NHS provides students a place to further develop these skills and flourish.

NHS operates under the auspices of the National Association of Secondary School Principals. It was officially established in 1921 and its membership includes chapters from all over the world. Membership in the National Honor Society is highly coveted and is a well-recognized standard of achievement by colleges and universities throughout the United States.
