First-Grade Bean Babies!

Ms. Hocutt's 1st-grade class has been learning how beans sprout and grow.
She had the students place the beans in a damp space with sunshine to warm them and promote growth. God knew just what they need to grow!
The beans were numbered and given some very clever names such as Bean-ito, Bean-jamin, Bean-adette, Bean-yonce and Bean-ce. Almost all responded to the sun and sprouted. The students were thrilled to watch and record the daily changes in the beans and how they responded to the sun!
Over the course of a couple of weeks, several of the beans had grown long roots that could continue to grow and eventually produce more beans if transferred to a pot of soil. It is fun and rewarding to see and understand the full cycle!
