Family Field Day

From Tic-Tac-Toe to Tug-of-War, Pirate Ships, and so much more, this year's Family Field Day had it all!

ICSB’s annual Family Field Day brought parents, students, and staff together for a day of outdoor fun and community-building games.

This year’s event introduced a new House Pod format. Led by members of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.), students from Pre-First through 10th Grade were grouped across grade levels within their houses, giving younger and older students more opportunities to participate side by side. Students wore their house shirts and colors as they moved through the day’s activities, which were led by 11th- and 12th-grade students.

Families gathered at the park for the morning, and parents were invited to join the fun and support their children throughout the day. A hot dog lunch was available for purchase, and everyone received a popsicle at the end of the day, but the real treat was seeing our Upper School students lead and be sweet to our youngest learners, who so clearly look up to them and loved bonding with them.

The day ended with the announcement of the day's winner, followed by the seniors gathering on the hill and throwing water balloons at students and staff. For the first time ever, Early Grades students raided the hill to get closer to the water balloon action. Students, led by seniors, then grabbed the trash can full of cold water and chased down the ICSB Athletic director and the event organizer, Mr. John Burgess, much to the younger children's delight.

Congratulations to the House of Young for winning the House competition for the day! Thank you to Athletic Director Mr. John Burgess, S.A.L.T., ICSB staff, and parent volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly. Family Field Day gave students a chance to connect across grade levels, engage in some playful, healthy competition, and just enjoy being outside, making memories together as a community.
