From caving to sculptures and pretend haircuts, ICSB Students got to explore educational concepts in action all over the city during this fall's field trip day.

Last Friday, ICSB students of all ages participated in an all-day field trip to various educational sites across Budapest, each tied to academic goals such as social studies, mathematics, science, and Hungarian culture.

Students from Pre-First and First Grade explored all the "grown-up" jobs that help keep a city running at Minipolisz. Second- and third-graders explored the animal kingdom at the Budapest Zoo, while fourth and fifth-graders surveyed the sights and sounds of science at the Natural History Museum.

Sixth Grade marveled at the masterpieces exhibited at the Fine Arts Museum and took a stroll in City Park and Hero Square. The Seventh Graders traveled back to Ancient Times by exploring the Aquincum Roman Ruins. Eighth Graders circled back to what they learned in math class. They showed up and were really there, and not "square" at the Geometry Museum.

In Upper School, Freshmen delved deep into science through caving and a brisk nature walk, while Sophomores enjoyed the symphony of sound, art, and culture that the House of Music Hungary has to offer. Juniors took a heart-wrenching historical tour through the Holocaust Memorial Center, then enjoyed the rich culture, food, and art of the Jewish District in the heart of Budapest. Finally, the Seniors visited the Hungarian National Museum to deepen their understanding of ICSB's host country's beautiful history.

It was another fun, successful day of making tangible, real-world connections to lessons learned in the classroom.
