In early March, the Middle Grades House Council partnered with the Dorkász Service Foundation for their spring Blue Bucket non-perishable food collection campaign.
Over ten days, the House Council students collected non-perishable food items, including pasta, rice, canned goods, oil, sugar, and sweets, from our incredibly generous ICSB community.
The House Council director, Ms. Jess Jenkins, enthusiastically responded to the community's giving by sharing, "We are absolutely blown away by the overwhelming support and generosity shown by each and every one of you during our recent Blue Bucket Food Collection Campaign. It's truly heartwarming to see our school community come together to make a difference in the lives of others.
Thanks to your dedication and kindness, we collected 200 kilograms of food and 33 liters of oil to support individuals and families facing food insecurity. Your contributions have made a tangible impact, providing nourishment and hope to those in need. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all students, parents, teachers, and staff members who participated in this campaign. Whether you donated food items, spread the word, or supported the initiative in any way, your efforts did not go unnoticed."
The Dorkász Service Foundation picked up the donations from ICSB this week and plans to distribute the items to families in need in the area just as the Easter holiday approaches.
Thank you for coming together to make a positive impact and for showing that small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
