From household staples to homemade stuffed animals, the Middle Grades House Council galvanized our community to give to families in need in this year's Blue Bucket Bonanza!

The Middle Grades House Council partnered with the Dorkász Service Foundation for this year’s non-perishable food drive, Blue Bucket Bonanza. Over ten days, students collected pasta, rice, canned goods, oil, sugar, and other staples from our generous ICSB families. Together, our community donated an incredible 275 kg of food.

Thank you to our Middle Grades House Council and to every student, parent, teacher, and staff member, and all 148 people who contributed. Each donation reflected a shared commitment to care for others in tangible ways.

That spirit of generosity also took shape in 6th-grade advisory. Students set personal goals for growth, sometimes academic, sometimes spiritual. One 6th-grade girl chose to focus on serving others. She began crocheting small stuffed animals to give away as an act of kindness. After learning about the needs connected to the Blue Bucket Bonanza, she decided to donate them to the Dorkász family ministry.

Her initiative quickly spread, and two others joined, each creating handmade items to give to children and families served through the Dorkász Service Foundation. What started as one student’s goal became a shared effort, with more creations underway as the drive continued. Alongside the 275 kg of food, these handmade gifts added a deeply personal touch. Three students used their time and creativity to serve others, offering not only practical support but also care that was evident and felt.

The Blue Bucket Bonanza met real needs, but it also shaped hearts, reminding us that even small acts, offered with intention, can multiply into lasting impact.
