The 2024-2025 School year kicks off with our Back to School Event and a fun first week of school!

ICSB kicked off its 2024-2025 school year with its back-to-school event for new and returning families this Monday! Leading up to the event, teachers prepared their classrooms, and non-instructional staff like IT and communications prepared their stands, ready to answer parents' questions. Students and their families started trickling in early, filling the campus with great expectations and the joyful sound of reunions. It was an incredible turnout.

"This has never happened before. I met all the parents of every student in my class." Anabella Alquisola, a new staff member, said.

Director Dr. Kristi Hiltibran began the event by greeting new and returning families and sharing her vision and enthusiasm for the year. Her words inspired a sense of unity and anticipation.

Students were especially excited to reunite with friends after the summer break. Newcomers were welcomed by their teachers and classmates, some of them perhaps going on to be lifelong friends. Laughter and conversations filled the air —heartwarming scenes in a warm gym.

This excitement carried over to the first day of school. For the first time in over two months, the halls were filled with children and teenagers catching up with each other, being greeted and guided by their teachers and other staff on where to go for their first class. Upper School students even handed in their phones, a new school policy based on Hungarian law, without a complaint, which is worth noting.

These first few exhilarating days of the school year set the tone for the rest of the year. May it be filled with growth, new friendships, joy, and hope. May we all pray in our hearts the following prayer as we expectantly wait to see how God will move in our community this year.

"Let me be in this school, even in small ways, a bearer of love and light and reconciliation; which is to say, let me in humility be your child."
