A Wonderful, Musical Weekend!

A Wonderful, Musical Weekend!
Candace Jefferies

The highly anticipated performances of the Upper School musical "The Music Man" were spectacular!

The classic musical by Meredith Willson was presented to great applause on Friday and Saturday evenings! After several months of rehearsal and preparation, 1912 River City, Iowa, came to life, and the remarkable story of being transformed by music was inspirational. The students' portrayals of the traveling salesman Professor Harold Hill, Marian the Librarian, Winthrop Paroo, the Town Council /Barbershop Quartet, the Pickalittle Ladies, Mayor Shinn and his wife Eulalie, and a colorful cast of townspeople, teenagers, and town kids brought the audience of families and friends to their feet, cheering the performance from beginning to end!  Here are just a few images from the performances:

A huge thanks to Mrs. Rebecca Lingenhoel and her dedicated staff for their tireless efforts in producing this show. Beyond the cast performances, there are many facets to a show like this, including orchestra, choreography, costumes, set construction, managing the transition from scene to scene, concessions, lights, and sound. There were over 80 members of the ICSB Family involved, and it all came together beautifully!

The tradition of annual musical productions at ICSB is treasured, and this year's show was worthy of all the expectations and memories made for all.
