5th Grade Shifts Into Fifth Gear Over Job

5th Grade Shifts Into Fifth Gear Over Job
Olivia Baker

Fifth Graders got into role-playing the Book of Job like it was their job.

The 5th grade Bible class took an exciting step in their learning journey by presenting their first role-playing activity based on the Book of Job, Chapter 1. They depicted the scene in which God boasts about Job's faithfulness. They then acted out Job losing everything but his life, yet still choosing to worship the Lord.

The fifth-grade class's passionate portrayal of the Book of Job showcased their talent, imagination, empathy, and deep understanding of the themes of integrity and faith in the face of adversity. Through this activity, they brought to life important lessons about Job’s unwavering trust in God, leaving their teacher and classmates entertained and inspired by their dedicated portrayal of these biblical principles.

"Can I tear my shirt?" One student asked.

When this student was answered with a resounding "no," they proceeded to try to find other endearingly dramatic ways to empathize with Job.

Job chooses to worship in the face of trial and tragedy. A heavy subject that Ms. Anabella Alquisola found a way to make age-appropriate. We are grateful to teachers like Ms. Alquisola for making learning about the Bible such a hands-on and even fun experience for her students, even when discussing such difficult subject matters!
