"Mr. Willy Wonka, the candy-making genius whom nobody has seen for the last ten years, sent out the following notice today: I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow five children - just five, mind you, and no more - to visit my factory this year. These lucky five will be shown around personally by me, and they will be allowed to see all the secrets and the magic of my factory."1
So reads the Evening Bulletin in the delightful children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
It is difficult for us to imagine such a great prize. Not only would they get to participate in a behind the scenes tour of Willy Wonka's amazing factory, they would also receive the gift of "enough chocolates and candies to last them for the rest of their lives!"2
Well, I cannot give you a backstage tour of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, and I certainly cannot promise a lifetime supply of sweets, but what I can do is share with you some of the wonderful things that the Lord is doing at ICSB.
Over the next few months, be on the lookout for behind the scenes looks at some of the happenings at ICSB. Our hope is that you will be encouraged by having a peek into the care and commitment that the staff puts into making our school such an amazing place. We want you be blessed when you see some of the things that God is doing in and through us as we seek to cultivate our Foundational Statements.
Our prayer is that we will all be able to say with the Psalmist,
"The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3
