ICSB Athletics Vision
ICSB is committed to educating our student-athletes through mind, body, heart, and spirit. Athletics are a vital part of the Christian educational experience. In athletics, we actively integrate faith, learning, and character in our students. ICSB will continually work to maintain a balanced perspective, ensuring that the competition inherent in sports complements a student’s education.
The ICSB athletic program enhances the quality of life of the individual participants, the school culture, and the greater community. It provides students an atmosphere of hard work and discipline, as they demonstrate and explore their own unique God-given gifts.
Goals
- To be one of the integral building blocks of quality education at ICSB
- To redefine our definition of success as it relates to winning and losing
- To exhibit an attitude of sportsmanship that reflects our school’s Christian values
- To provide fair opportunities for men and women
- To model a Christ-like attitude and approach in the coaching role
- To demonstrate faithful stewardship of students’ gifts and the school’s resources

We also compete locally throughout each season with a group of international schools in Budapest.

ICSB Coaches
Our athletics program relies on volunteer coaches from the school staff, parents, and community. If we do not have a volunteer coach for a specific sport, we cannot offer the sport for that season.
If you are interested in coaching any sport, please fill out our Volunteer Application form. For more information about coaching, email our Athletic Director, John Burgess, at jburgess@icsbudapest.org.
Communication
Each season your child will be added to their sport-specific Microsoft Team through their ICSB account. Your child's coach will use this Team to communicate important information to them. Please check with your child to make sure they are aware of this Team, and they have turned on their notifications so they won't miss any important information this season.
Parents: It is also very important that you subscribe to your child's sports team calendar through your ICSB parent account. Important information will be sent in the ICSB Weekly newsletter via email; however, games, practices, and any schedule changes will be found on the athletics calendar. If you are subscribed to these calendars, you will receive an email alert automatically. Learn more about how to subscribe to our Athletics Calendars HERE (you will need to set your ICSB parent portal account password to subscribe to email notifications)!
The practice schedule largely depends on coach availability and is subject to change. ICSB is responsible for any transportation to/from practices and games.
In addition to subscribing to the calendar, each parent and student-athlete will be required to attend a Pre-Season Parent Meeting and sign an agreement.
Thank you for allowing your students to be a part of our athletic program!
