Major Kira Málna

Meet Kira from Hungary, who attended ICSB for 7 years in this Senior Spotlight.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

I have been involved in band and choir.

Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.

Some of the most meaningful parts of my years weren't found in the classroom or at the big events of the school, but in the quiet, honest conversations I had with a few special teachers. Talking with Mrs. Marton about life was something that helped me through high school. Miss Spence, Mrs. Smith and Mr. Tarbell were also there for me in ways that mattered more than they probably know. On my difficult days, when everything felt overwhelming, they always seemed to notice and take a moment to check in. Even a short chat with them could make my day better. Every teacher’s kindness, support, and understanding helped me feel seen, and it reminded me I wasn't alone. I'll always be grateful for all of you!

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

One of my favorite memories from my time at ICSB has to be the retreats. There was something so special about being away from school and getting to know each other in a completely different environment. We weren't just classmates anymore, but we were friends sitting around the campfire, sharing laughs, stories, and moments that all brought us closer.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

The banquet has been my favorite event of senior year so far. After months of classes, stress about applications, and being uncertain about the future, it was a night where everything just stopped, and we got to celebrate each other. Seeing everyone dressed up, being together made me realize how our highschool years are actually coming to an end, and made me reflect on how amazing these few years were.

What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?

After 7 years at ICSB, I've grown into someone I'm proud of. I've deepened my faith, learned what it means to be part of a community, and found a clear direction for my future. This school has been more than just a place to learn, it's a place where I've been challenged, supported, and shaped.
Through friendships, tough days, and meaningful conversations, I've grown a lot.

Will you be attending college next year?

No

What are your future plans?

My future plans are to continue my studies at pilot school and work toward becoming a Commercial Pilot. Aviation has become a real passion, and I’m excited to take the next steps in that journey
