Meet Vivien from Hungary, who attended ICSB for 4 years, in this Senior Spotlight.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

I have been involved in choir at ICSB.

Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.

Several teachers have had a lasting, positive impact on me throughout my time at ICSB. Mrs. Eding was the first teacher I truly connected with when I first came to this school. She made me feel welcome and built a genuine relationship with me early on. Ms. Stowell also holds a special place in my heart. During our senior year retreat, we spent meaningful time together over lunch and dinner, getting to know each other on a deeper level. We still share laughs through our inside jokes, and I’ll never forget when she told me how proud she was of me during one of the more emotional moments of the retreat, that will stay with me wherever I go.
Mrs. Smith has always been someone I can count on to listen to me yap about whatever and lift my spirits with her sweet and caring nature. Her presence alone brings a smile to my face every day. Mrs. Culbertson has been a constant source of support as she is always ready with thoughtful advice, whether I’m going through good times or tough ones.
I’m also grateful for Mr. Tarbell, Mr. Fletcher, and Mr. Kiss. They’ve consistently shown how much they appreciate us as students, and I always felt comfortable turning to them for help. On top of that, their humor and kindness have brought so much joy and laughs to my school experience.

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

My favorite thing about ICSB is that we have such a supportive and welcoming community and it is easy for us to develop new relationships within seconds. My favorite memories have been the retreats and screaming at the top of our lungs with our roommates because of the stink bugs that attacked us. As well as all the laughs and fun times that I've had with everyone here, I didn't think of it so much at those times but I wish I didn't have to let go of them so early on.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

The highlight of my senior year has been retreat and how we were able to share our experiences with each other throughout our time in ICSB, our class got even closer and we had an emotional and meaningful time at the bonfire since we all opened up to each other on a certain level and we recognized and showed a love towards one another that we might've not normally shown each other every day.

What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?

Throughout my time in ICSB I've been able to grow to be a better version of myself. I've learned a lot about myself and others and I've grown to be a lot more grateful and appreciative of life and the people and things I have around me. I've gotten closer to God and have developed the faith and hope that I didn't really have before coming to ICSB.
