Anna Segesvári

In this Senior Spotlight, meet Anna from Hungary, who attended ICSB for two years.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

I have been part of the journalism class for two years. In my junior year, I was one of the staff members, but in my senior year, I am one of the two co-editors. I was also been part of the yearbook staff for one year

What's your favorite place on campus and why?

I would say the lunch area because I have made some really good memories and had so many laughs there. The other place I have to mention is the gym, since all the big events take place there

Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.

To begin with, I want to mention how incredible and wonderful the teachers and staff at ICSB are. I am very grateful to everyone I have come into contact with since they all left an influence on me. But, there are a few people I want to name specifically since they had a significant influence on my life:

  • Miss Finny (Finstrom), who left in my junior year, must be mentioned first. She is a wonderful person with a big heart, and I could talk to her or just weep my heart out to her at any time
  • Another teacher I would like to mention is Miss Cole. She is one of the teachers who had the largest impact on me and shaped me into the person I am now. She was always available if I needed to talk, get some encouragement, or simply get a tight hug
  • Mrs. Curby also holds a special place in my life since she helped me discover my love for literature and writing. She also keeps her door open at all times for conversation and assistance
  • Last but not least, I must mention Mrs. Cooper. She was someone I could always turn to for inspiration and a hug. She was always willing to communicate, and she always made my days brighter

What's your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

If you are familiar with our class, I won't need to say that we spend a lot of time laughing and being silly during the day, in addition to screaming and shouting. Those happy times when we are all laughing together are my best memories

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

The time I got to spend with all the important people

What is an experience you've had at ICSB that you couldn't have had anywhere else?

You may connect with so many people from all around the world by meeting them. The teachers are also exceptionally special; they are interested in your development as a person and as a student

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to ICSB?

I have discovered my true strength and how to deal with the challenging aspects of my life. I can now confidently state that I am prepared to begin the next chapter of my life since I have made significant academic and personal growth

Will you be attending college next year?

Yes

What college(s) have you applied to?

I have applied to IBS, John Cabot, Marbella Design Academy, and McDaniels

Which one(s) have you been accepted to?

I have been accepted to all of them, but I have not made my final decision on which I will attend

What will be your major or area of focus?

My main major will be political science and international studies. I also plan to take a second major, but I still have to make a decision between journalism and psychology

What do you hope to be doing, pursuing in 10 years?

I hope to be someone who is happy and healthy, because that is all that matters
