Noah Mathews

Meet Noah from the United States, who attended ICSB for 10 years in this Senior Spotlight.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

Track & Field, Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, Musical, Band, Choir, National Honor Society, Student Council, Student Athletic Leadership Team, Honors Orchestra, Yearbook.

Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.

Mr. Fletcher has been an inspiration to me since I started getting to know him in classes. He demonstrates what it looks like to be a true Christ follower, he shows real interest in the lives and well-being of the students, and he balances his busy life as a teacher and being a father of young girls without losing his patience with his students, which I find admirable, and I aspire to be like him.

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

My favorite part about ICSB is how closely knit the community is. It has given me the chance to build friendships with people I otherwise wouldn't have interacted with. It really is a special aspect of the school, and I hope to be able to find a community like it in my future.

Share a favorite book you read while you were a student at ICSB? And why did you like it?

I enjoyed reading Frankenstein for English last year. I thought it had a lot of interesting discussion points, and the characters and plot all felt very original.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

One of my biggest highlights of my senior year was winning the Winter Classic. After 7 seasons of ICSB basketball it was one my biggest wishes for my senior year, and we were blessed to have it come true. After having played with many of the same teammates from 6th-12th grade, I couldn't have asked for a better sense of closure.

What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?

I've grown in many ways, but especially in my ability to build friendships, and work with other people to achieve a solution.

Will you be attending college next year?

Yes

What are your future plans?

I will be studying Kinesiology at Texas A&M University.
