Meet Merse from Hungary, who attended ICSB for 13 years, in this Senior Spotlight.
What have you been involved in at ICSB?
Track, Basketball, Choir, Band, graphic design, personal finance / business.
Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.
Mr. Jefferies seemed to have impacted me the most as he has guided me in the right direction on multiple occasions. Having the perfect talks about anything at any time, having basically a very deep connection with him during the years he was here. But if I had to mention a teacher that is currently working here at ICSB, it would be Ms. Spence, as we also could connect on many topics, and have some good open conversations, and a lot of good guidance for the future.
What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?
The open connection between all people here, as you could just walk up to anybody and talk, no matter if you had any prior interactions, or the sports events, and the community building that we have here at the school.
Share a favorite book you read while you were a student at ICSB? And why did you like it?
I got Atomic Habits by recommendation from Mr. Fletcher, and I was truly amazed by how people operate and how you can train your mind to achieve what you want, starting with small steps and everyday actions.
What has been the highlight of your senior year?
Getting to know my class better, building closer relationships, and sharing fun moments in and out of class.
What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?
Will you be attending college next year?
What are your future plans?
I plan to go to the UK to study Motorsport engineering and build a brighter future in the racing community.
