Meet Jázmin from Hungary, who attended ICSB for 5 years in this Senior Spotlight.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

Choir 3 years, Dance Team 3 years, NHS 2 years.

Share about a teacher(s) and how they have impacted you positively.

Some of the teachers that have had an impact on me include Mr. Jeffries, Mr. Fletcher, Mrs. Culbertson, Mrs. Curby, and Ms. Spence! I have Mr. Jeffries to thank for opening up my eyes to the field of Communications, which I will end up going to! Mr. Jeffries also helped me grow in my faith over the years! His sense of humor was what made my day happier a lot of times!
I also want to thank Mr. Fletcher for his humane understanding. He just got it when things were bad or difficult, and he was always so gracious and empathetic towards me!
Mrs. Culbertson was the 2nd person who pushed me towards my major! AP Lang was one of the best classes I ever took! I have grown so so much thanks to her which I will be forever grateful for! We were all challenged by Mrs. Curby’s class but I have realized that she was preparing me and us for a bigger role in this world. She taught how to be more disciplined and hardworking, but also to embrace the beauty of this world! Ms. Spence helped me grow as an active thinker, and as a result, I am more “willing to be disturbed”. I loved how realistic she was of our world, both from a positive and a negative pov yet she is still able to embrace God! This has motivated me to do the same! To see things for the way they are, but still see that there is God behind it all!

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

I love our High School Retreats! Especially my last one in October meant a lot to me! I never missed Mission Impossible in any of my years! That was the only game that I genuinely loved! Bonfire and the random conversations throughout the days spent at Vajta were also valuable to me! And how could I forget the impactful chapels that we have had, especially this year, with Mr. Jeffries calling me up and asking about triangles?

Share a favorite book you read while you were a student at ICSB? And why did you like it?

Tbh I am not reader…So I do not have one. Although I did really enjoy reading one of my summer readings “The Family Romanov Murder, Rebellion and the Fall of Imperial Russia”

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

The highlight of my senior is definitely Retreat! It’s definitely one of the best things ICSB has to offer to its students! Loved to hangout with people, play games throughout the day. I will also miss the 900ft brownie sundays! And OH what a an AMAZING Freshman challenge we planned! Sis shall remember that forever. <3

What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?

I have grown quite a lot in my faith which is a bit surprising to me because it was never something I intended to change but I am glad that did! I have changed a lot internally - I am a completely different person than I was back in 8th grade when I came here. I am more open minded, and I just go with the flow.

Will you be attending college next year?

Yes

What are your future plans?

I will go to the Netherlands to study International Communication Management at Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
