In this #SeniorSpotlight2021, get to know Anna, an eight-year student from Hungary, who will be studying in Rotterdam in the fall.
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
"I Lived" by One Republic
What’s your favorite TV show or movie?
"Back to the Future"
What have you been involved in at ICSB?
Wow, well I was involved in musicals, and I did a year of journalism.
How long have you been at ICSB?
8 years.
What’s your favorite place on campus and why?
I love Miss Cole's classroom, because the sunset is absolutely stunning to watch from in there. For anyone who hasn't seen it from there I highly recommend trying it!
How have your teachers impacted you?
Miss Cole has been a rock through high school. She is the perfect combination of fun and strict, she has been one of the best teachers and role models I could ever think of. She cares so much about us as students, and she is so understanding and encouraging. I could never thank her enough, she has had such a big impact on my life and I hope she knows that I will never forget her.
Miss Olandt is a truly amazing teacher, so much fun to be around. She has an amazing teaching style, so motivating. Honestly we don't deserve her, and her amazing sense of humor. She is encouraging and patient. She has shown me that school isn't that bad. I wish everyone an opportunity to enjoy a math class with her or art if that's more your speed. Thank you for being amazing Miss O!
Mrs. Peck she is a teacher who first taught me in 6th grade and I have appreciated her since then. She is such a positive force in this school, she does everything to make her classes fun, she does the craziest and funniest things with us, like dancing to Footloose, or dressing up in a wig and sunglasses during online school to keep us motivated. Such a blessing to have her in my life!
What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?
My favorite thing about ICSB is the teachers who care, not just about us academically but about us as people.
What is an experience you’ve had at ICSB that you couldn’t have had anywhere else?
I believe the close community with the teachers caring so much, not just about school but about the students and having a personal relationship with each of us.
What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?
I have grown in a lot of ways while I have been at this school, I have learned patience, I've learned to understand that being different isn't bad, I've learned to never change to fit in.
What colleges did you get accepted to and which one will you pick?
I got accepted to the Rotterdam University Of Applied Sciences and the University of Exeter, and I chose Rotterdam University.
What is your dream job?
I don't know yet, but I'll figure it out soon enough.
