In this #SeniorSpotlight2021, get to know Matthew, a six-year student originally from the US, who loves sports and wants to become an athletic trainer.

When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?

"Life changes" by Thomas Rhett

What’s your favorite TV show or movie?

"The Office"

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

I think I’ve done all sports at some point. I’ve been in musicals. I was part of chapel team and I am a National Honor Society member.

How long have you been at ICSB?

I’ve been at ICSB for 6 years.

What’s your favorite place on campus and why?

Student lounge because the boys would always hang out there during lunch.

How have your teachers impacted you?

My teachers have really pushed the way we think throughout our years here. They have taught us to think critically and individually, not just going along with the crowd. I really value that a lot as it is important for when we all go out on our own.

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

Basketball tournaments through the years have been the best memories.

What is an experience you’ve had at ICSB that you couldn’t have had anywhere else?

Just being able to go to school in a strong Christian environment with a bunch of teachers who really care about their students.

What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?

I’ve matured a lot because I’ve been here since 6th grade. The school has helped me learn how to cultivate my personal relationship with God.

What colleges did you get accepted to and which one will you pick?

I got accepted to SAGU, Palm Beach Atlantic, North Central and Carson-Newman Universities, but I haven't made a decision about which one I'll attend.

What is your dream job?

Coaching or athletic trainer.
