Anna Dove

In this Senior Spotlight, meet Anna, who has grown up in Hungary and has attended ICSB for most of her school career.

When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor

What’s your favorite TV show or movie?

These past few years, my comfort TV shows have been Friends and Money Heist.

What have you been involved in at ICSB?

I was in a little bit of everything: yearbook freshmen year, Student Council as secretary junior year, spotlight for musical every year, National Honor Society senior year, basketball freshmen year, basketball manager senior year, Beta club sophomore year.

How long have you been at ICSB?

I’ve been at ICSB since pre-first, with a few random gaps in between.

What’s your favorite place on campus and why?

Probably the gym, so many memories there.

How have your teachers impacted you?

Honestly, I could say something good about every teacher, I see how many sacrifices they have made to be here, and it isn’t always easy. Mrs. Peck would always ask me how I was doing during online school and encouraged my artistic passions. Mr. and Mrs. Thiesen were always gentle and did so much as our class sponsors this year. Mrs. Márton always said hello to me and chatted quickly even though she hasn’t taught me since middle school, also a very good class sponsor. Mr. Southwell is one of the most engaging people I’ve ever met. Everyone has motivated and inspired me to treat people outside of school with that much kindness.

What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?

The Basketball Tournaments, for sure.

What colleges did you apply to and where are you planning to attend?

A applied to a few in the Netherlands; the University of Amsterdam and Tilburg University. And a few in Budapest; McDaniel College and Károli University. I will be studying clinical psychology at McDaniel College.

What is your dream job?

Becoming a clinical psychologist who also does art on the side.
