In this #SeniorSpotlight2021, get to know Lacey Southwell, a three-year student originally from the US, who led the National Honor Society service project.
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
“We’re all in this together” from High School Musical
What’s your favorite TV show or movie?
I don’t really have a favorite but I like action movies and romance movies.
What have you been involved in at ICSB?
Basketball, choir and National Honor Society.
How long have you been at ICSB?
What’s your favorite place on campus and why?
I like the picnic tables right outside of the cafeteria because it’s a great place to just sit and talk and be outside.
How have your teachers impacted you?
I love the teachers at ICSB so much. I am so thankful for how committed they are and how they make time in their busy schedules to check in with students and care for them. I especially think of Miss Finstrom who almost always has her door open and welcomes students to come in and chat. She is really easy to talk to about deep things and has really encouraged me spiritually. Thank you for all of the time that you have put into me Miss Finstrom! I will miss you.
What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?
I love basketball tournament every year because it is a fun time of competition and fellowship.
What is an experience you’ve had at ICSB that you couldn’t have had anywhere else?
Having the opportunity to go to school with people from so many different countries is so cool and unique and has helped me to broaden my view of the world.
What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?
I have grown as a leader through the National Honor Society program, and I have grown spiritually with the help of my teachers and peers.
What colleges did you get accepted to and which one will you pick?
I applied to Cornerstone University, Wheaton College, Taylor University, Cedarville University, Bethel University, and the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.
I have been accepted to all of them, but I am planning on attending the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.
What is your dream job?
I would love to get a degree in nursing and eventually work in an orphanage overseas.
