The Amazing Race

Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Track, Choir, National Honor Society, Student Council, Photography
How long have you been at ICSB?
What’s your favorite place on campus and why?
The gym hands down, I love playing basketball.
How have your teachers impacted you?
Ms. Cole is one of our class sponsors and I am very grateful for all the work she has put into serving our class. She also has impacted me with how she teaches her classes. She does everything she can to keep the classes fun and interactive and is also very open and happy to talk with us.
Though I only had him for one semester, I loved having Mr. Hughey as a teacher. His joy and love for Christ showed in his teaching and was contagious. He was also very humble in his interactions with students and I loved getting to talk with him about what we were learning or anything else.
What’s your favorite thing or memory about ICSB?
Sports. Sports were what I would look forward to throughout the day. I loved getting to work hard and have fun with my friends and then compete and show what we had achieved.
What is an experience you’ve had at ICSB that you couldn’t have had anywhere else?
Tournament my junior year is the single best memory I've had in my high school career. Getting to push yourself and compete, and then sit down and meet new believers from around the world is easily my favorite memory from high school. And it is one I couldn't have had anywhere else.
What are some of the ways you’ve grown since you first came to ICSB?
I've definitely grown in my character as well as in my walk with God. My freshman year a few seniors led a Bible study for guys in my class and my junior year I had the privilege of leading a Bible study with Eddie for the Freshmen guys. Getting to move from being a part of something, to leading, was a big step. I found that I actually was learning more as I tried to lead others than when I was just a listener.
What colleges did you get accepted to and which one will you pick?
I applied to the University of Kansas and Texas A&M. I've been accepted to both but I already decided to go to Texas A&M.
What is your dream job?
I don't know. I will be studying engineering and I am especially interested in how that links to space exploration but I also love teaching, coaching, and studying God's word. So we'll see where God leads me and what he will have me do.
