Your first step towards admission at ICSB is to complete our short Inquiry Form. You can ask questions about ICSB on this form. This will help us respond to you with the information you need and answer any questions you may have.

We welcome prospective families to tour the campus and learn about our community. Campus visits include a walk-through of our buildings and outdoor areas, during which you can have many of your questions answered. The tour is led by Ms. Ibolya Sági, our Admission & Enrollment  Coordinator.

PRIORITY APPLICATIONS

If the application form is submitted and the application fee is paid BEFORE February 1 AND the admission process is completed by March 31 of the enrollment year (all documents submitted, assessments, interviews conducted), it is considered a PRIORITY APPLICATION and will generally receive an admission decision by April 15. All priority applications will be considered for admission decision at the same time, regardless of how far in advance before the deadline they were submitted.

LATE APPLICATIONS

If the application form is submitted AFTER February 1 of the enrollment year, the applicant will be considered for admission only if there are seats available after the priority applications are processed, otherwise they will be automatically transferred to the wait pool. LATE APPLICATIONS usually receive an admission decision 2 weeks after the admission process is complete (all documents submitted, assessments, interviews completed), but no sooner than mid-May.

Please note that it may take up to 6 weeks to complete the admission process during the summer (if the application form is submitted between May 15-August 31), and another 2-4 weeks to reach an admission decision after the admission process is completed (all documents submitted, assessments completed). 

For the 2024-2025 school year, we have LIMITED AVAILABILITY in a few select grades. Please see our Current Seat Availability page for more information and conditions of availability per grade level. If we have availability, please submit an online application form.

The admission process (assessments, interviews, document reviews, admission decision) usually takes up to 4 weeks (if parent provides all required information in due time).

    APPLY TO ICSB    

Seat availability information for the 2025-2026 school year will be posted on our Current Seat Availability page on January 15, 2025.

You will be required to pay the Application Fee of 250 USD after you submit the Application Form. This fee covers the whole admission process, including assessments, and is non-refundable. See our Payment Methods here.

We recommend checking our Current Seat Availability page before paying the application fee! Seat availability information for the upcoming school year is posted on January 15, after our current students re-enroll.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will be able to schedule admission testing (English language or academic readiness assessments) appointments AFTER we receive the Application Fee payment.

After submitting the Application Form, you will be required to upload a LEGIBLE, high-quality photo or scanned copy of the following documents in English or Hungarian (or officially translated to English or Hungarian by OFFI, Orbit Translation, GTS, or UTS, or a similar, certified company):

• Personal identification document (passport or birth certificate or Hungarian ID card or residence permit) 
• Current photo of the applicant
• Previous school records (report cards, transcripts)
• Individual educational plans or medical diagnosis (if applicable)

IMPORTANT NOTE: The application process will not be completed, and no admission decision will be made until ALL required documents are uploaded!

We ask that the applicant's current teacher and school administrator (principal/school director), and - if the family attends a Christian church - pastor EACH submit a confidential online recommendation form. 

The parent will be responsible that the forms are submitted by these parties in due time. More information will be available on our Admission & Enrollment Portal.

Please also complete the Family Questionnaire and the Student Questionnaire (for applicants into grades 6-12).

ASSESSMENTS

After you submit the online Application Form, upload all required documents, and pay the Application Fee, you will be able to schedule an English Language Assessment (for non-native English speakers only) and an Academic Readiness Assessment appointment.

Assessments take place AT OUR SCHOOL, IN PERSON. If the applicant doesn't reside in Hungary during the application process, our Admission Office will offer an ONLINE assessment appointment. Please note that online assessments must be proctored by an educator at the applicant's current school!

We start offering admission assessments in January. We highly recommend scheduling assessment appointments as soon as they become available to help progress the application process.

To be considered as a priority applicant, all admission assessments must be completed by March 31 (with the application form submitted by February 1)!

If the applicant meets the overall admission criteria, we will invite you for a Family Interview as the last step in the admission process. During the interview, you will meet with the Lower or Upper School Principal, respectively. The interview allows us to get to know your family better and offers an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

The Family Interview takes place AT OUR SCHOOL, IN PERSON. If your family doesn't reside in Hungary during the admission process, you'll need to  request an ONLINE interview appointment from our Admission Office!

To be considered as a priority applicant, the Family Interview must be completed by March 31 (with the application form submitted by February 1)!

Please note that not all applications will reach the Family Interview stage.

If an applicant meets all admission requirement, but we can not offer a seat for the sole reason of lack of space, we will transfer the applicant to our wait pool. We will inform the applicant if a spot becomes available.

Please note that we offer a wait pool (as contrasted with a waitlist). Accepted students will not be offered seats on a “first-come, first served” basis. Applicants placed in the wait pool will be offered seats as space becomes available based on our admissions criteria and school mission. Seat offers are not guaranteed for applicants placed in the wait pool.

If the applicant is accepted for admission to ICSB:

• We will offer a seat to the applicant in our admission decision email.
• You will then be required to pay the Seat Reservation Fee  (500 USD) to confirm acceptance of the offered seat within 10 days after the admission decision email is sent out. (See our Additional Fees and Payment Methods for more information.) 
• Should you fail to fulfill the payment request in due time, the offer will be withdrawn, and the applicant will be transferred to the wait pool.

After we receive the Seat Reservation Fee, you will be able to complete and sign the:

• Enrollment Contract, listing the Parent Contribution Fee and any Additional Fees (if applicable),
• Health Agreement,
• Photo & Image Consent,
• Field Trip Consent, and
• Athletics Agreement (for students entering into 6th grade and up)

Applicants enrolling into 10-12th grades must submit official transcripts (évvégi bizonyítvány)!

Applicants enrolling in 10-12th grades must submit a copy of the official transcripts (évvégi bizonyítvány) for all high school grade levels they completed!*

The submission deadline is August 15 (or no later than two weeks before the student's first day of attending school).

We accept the original copy of this document in English or Hungarian languages, or an officially translated copy in one of these languages.

*If previous school years' official transcripts had been submitted during the application process, you will only need to submit the most recent one received at the end of the school year.

Any student who wishes to attend a school in Hungary must meet the Hungarian Immunization Requirements and provide legible proof of having received all compulsory vaccinations! 

Parents are responsible for ensuring the student's full compliance with the Hungarian Immunization Requirements. Enrollment is conditional on meeting these requirements!

The submission deadline is August 15 (or no later than two weeks before the student's first day of attending school). 

We accept the original copies of these documents in English or Hungarian languages, or an officially translated copy in one of these languages.

The first installment of the Parent Contribution Fee and any Additional Fees (if applicable) is due by August 15 (or no later than two weeks before the student's first day of attending school).

Please note that our Business Office needs to RECEIVE the first payment by this deadline! If your chosen method of payment takes a few days or weeks, please factor that in when you schedule your payment.
